The everyday lip

Howdy. So when we left off, my face looked like this:

Not bad, but missing something, yes?

Even complexion? A little bit of contouring? Check.

Shimmering bright eyes? Check.
Now those lips need some color! This is all part of my ‘everyday look’ that’s my go-to when I wanna look good but not in full glamour mode. And for me, that means a dewy, even complexion, a warm glow, a shimmering taupe/golden eye and a bit of lip shimmer in peachy-golden-pink hues.
Here are my favorite everyday lip colors:

(From left to right- Wet n Wild MegaSlicks Lip gloss in Strawberry Ice #566. e.l.f Pout Perfecter in Glow #82621. NYC Ultra Last Lip Wear in Caramel #401. And the Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balms in Cherry Me, Oh! Orange and Peach Kiss)

So…let’s get those lips did.
Your lips already have some liquid concealer on them from doing your foundation. This will keep your lipstick in place and make your lips stand out more.
Apply your favorite creamy shimmering lipstick, starting at the Cupid’s bow and working your way down either side of the top lip and then around the bottom:

(That’s the NYC Caramel)

Then take a chubby concealer pencil…
(here’s my fav:)

(NYC in Ivory (now discontinued but Loreal makes a good one))

and lightly draw around the lips, blending a little onto the outer lip line:

(This slight contrast in the color of your skin and the color of the area right around your lips will make your lips stand out and ‘pop’.) Blend really well so you don’t see a line.  And it’s ok if it gets on your lipstick you just applied, that’s part of it.
Then take your favorite shimmering gloss and apply it only on the Cupid’s bow and the center of the bottom lip,
(That’s the e.l.f Pout Perfecter)

(By highlighting those areas of your lips, you are creating the illusion that they are fuller than they actually are)

blend by rubbing your lips together to even it out.
Check to make sure there are no lipstick creases and you’re good to go!! Your everyday glow face is complete!
And since I’ve told you that I don’t use filters or retouch any of my makeup photos, I took one out in the natural daylight just to show you that everything still holds up. (Natural light is ALWAYS the best test!!!)

(The car was parked, I assure you. No driving selfies, ladies!!)
