Family-Made Pasta

Last night we made our own pasta. It was so much fun and honestly, the best pasta we’ve ever eaten. And, of course, the little one helped too! I’m a little too tired for story telling so I’ll let the pictures do the talkin’.

But here’s our own recipe, which ended up being a perfect combination of all the results of our research…
1 3/4 cup bread flour. 1 3/4 cup semolina flour.
5 large eggs + 1 yolk.

We just followed our KitchenAid pasta attachment instructions for rolled pasta. Then cut it into wide, ragged strips. We sauced our pasta with a simple, yet delicious, tomato & basil sauce with fresh mozzarella.

And the little one like it. A lot.

Looks like fun–and the little one is such a cutie! I guess one of these days I'll have to break down and get one of those pasta attachments. I tried rolling pasta out by hand once, and the word "blah" doesn't even begin to describe the result!

    Aw, thanks!
Yeah, we tried to make pasta by hand too and it turned out way too thick and really chewy. I'm never one to tell people to go out and buy kitchen gadgets but I think this one is kind of necessary… And the pasta was delicious!
