We just made our own Marshmallow ‘Peeps’…it was so easy, and a really fun project for the family. So I thought I’d share!
Just follow my recipe for Agave Marshmallows and make the few changes to the recipe…
*As it’s mixing and ‘fluffing’, drop in several drops of food coloring until you’ve reached your desired color.
*Use any small, animal shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes.
*In a large zipbag, toss and shake the shapes in more tapioca starch, corn starch or flour to remove the tackiness, (you could also add some colored sanding sugar).
*With a toothpick, dot little eyes onto them using dark colored gel-food coloring.
*Allow the eyes to dry completely before storing them.

Now that is something I did not do with my kids, make candy, a skill my mom had…how fun too your own marshmallows! I may have to do this with my clients kids soon!
It's really a great thing for kids because it's so easy and quick. There really isn't any cooking involved, just a bit of heating, measuring and then watching the 'magic' happen. Perfect!
